The Art of Seeing - Visual Design for the camera

Workshop Dates:Saturday, June 14, 2008

Workshop Fees:$75

Workshop #:WS0806-09

Course Times:9:30 - 3:30 PM + evening presentation - 7:30 PM

Course Description:Visual Design and an understanding of camera controls are the two themes we will concentrate on.  The focus (excuse the pun) is to both refresh and motivate the participants’ journey towards creating a personal vision for themselves.

The learning environment is fun and meant to be encouraging to photographers who may be somewhat intimidated by the process of learning to take pictures.  Lecture, image presentation and a 2-hour field trip followed by a presentation of participant’s images creates an enjoyable social situation for looking at and examining participants’ images.

This workshop is open to all levels of photographers with a 35mm camera with interchangeable lenses.  Digital cameras are preferred, as we will not be able to view film images due to time constraints.

Instructor's Note:

The above equipment that I have listed as essential is important for the creation of images but I also understand not everyone is going to have all the equipment listed above.

Photography is expensive so don’t worry if you do not have a portable flash, wide angle lens or a large telephoto lens or some of the other equipment listed above.  I mention them because they do enable the participant to fully take advantage of the learning process and make it more fun.  But you do not necessarily need to break the bank at this point to be able to learn and see first before buying any additional equipment.
