Plan to attend the opening reception on Friday evening at the Arts Centre. This kicks off the weekend festival called Celebrating Our Own.
Art Exhibition & Sale - Sat & Sun from 10 – 4
The art exhibition in the Denman Island Arts Centre will showcase the work of over 40 local artists, from jewellery and pottery to painting and sculpture.
Proceeds raised will help to fund both the Arts Centre's operating expenses and the purchase campaign underway to make the building a permanent community asset. The exhibition is a rare opportunity to view and purchase the work of so many local artists under one roof!
Studio Tour - Sat & Sun from 10 – 4
Then on the weekend, pick up a map and take the free island-wide studio tour, where you can visit twenty-one artists working in a wide variety of mediums. Follow the roads and prowl the studios where art is created!

Artisan Market
On the grounds of the Arts Centre will be a colourful artisan market, carving demos (including chocolate!) and readings – all events between 10am & 4 pm.
Magic Show - Sat, 8 pm
On Saturday, August 16th at 8 pm Ariel Morales and Rochelle Allison of ¿Qué Bolá? Magic, present their award winning comedy magic and illusion show at the Community Hall. This is sure to be a fun-filled event for all ages.
