Arts Boot Camp - Survival Skills for the Creative Soul

Saturday Workshops

Painless Patchwork

10 am –11:45
with Jean Cockburn

Participants will hand sew a classic nine-patch patchwork square, then quilt it into a miniature masterpiece. No previous sewing skills are necessary. all materials supplied

Paper Covers Anything!

Noon – 1:45
with Barbara Mullin

Explore the versatility, limitless possibility & adventure of papier mache from figures, rattles, carnival masks or jewelry. Learn various techniques of this medium by working over a mold, armature or balloon to produce a piece to paint, embellish or decorate once it has dried.

 

Singing 3-part Rounds

2 PM – 4 PM
with Jennifer West

Raise your voice in song with your family and friends! Rounds are one of the easiest ways to sing in harmony. Learn simple and not so simple rounds. They're fun and can be sung anytime two or more singers get together. Amaze your friends! Amaze yourself!

Ideas, exercises and prompts for creating visually inspiring journals, diaries & scrapbooks using simple techniques and materials. Spontaneous collage, drawing & painting for those who think they can't, creative ways to use photos, lots of techniques for by-passing the inner critic & having fun with your journal.a few supplies needed.

 

Ariel MoralesImpromptu Magic

Magic that can be done with everyday objects, on the spur of the moment, with little or no advance preparation.

 

Hand Drumming Spirit

2 pm – 4 PM
with Ron Sitter

Each person will receive a hand drum and will be introduced to its construction and sounds. Learn several hand drum exercises in a fun and casual environment.
